Feature film available on CBC Gem, Amazon Prime
Dave produced the film and directed the B-Unit cinematography of this 90-minute desert-island survival story set on Lake Superior. Starring Julia Jones (Longmire, Westworld, The Mandolorian) and Charlie Carrick (The Borgia, Departure), it's the true story of Angelique and Charlie Mott who were marooned and left to die on Isle Royale in 1845.
Big Sound International Film Festival
Bringing years of film festival experience to the table, Dave is the Creative Programmer of Parry Sound's very own international film festival. Founded by Lesley Mapstone, the BSIFF brings films from all over the world to the big screen and connects filmmakers and audiences in the gem of Northern Ontario, the Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts.
Wonders of the Arctic IMAX 3D
Large format documentary
Dave spent a month and a half on the frozen ocean in the high-Arctic working with the underwater camera unit on Wonders of the Arctic.
Happy FKN Sunshine
Feature film - recently premiered
Dave worked as the picture editor on this quirky indy feature about a music band of oddballs from a small Northern Ontario mill town produced by Ryan Keller (Other Animal) and directed by Derek Diorio (Distinct Features). Featuring a predominantly Northern cast, it premiered as the showcase of LA Dances With Films Festival in the TCL Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Bouvelvard (yes the same theatre Star Wars premiered in 1977).
Return To Manomin
Dave was producer, cinematographer and editor on this heartfelt story of an Anishinabe family returning to their traditional wild rice harvest after nearly losing the practice under the pressures of colonialism and loss.
This film won Cinematographer of the Year at the Northern Ontario Film and Music Awards and screened at film festivals around the world.
La Petite Mairesse
Dramatic TV Series (French) - TFO
In the Summer of 2021 Dave spent a week on the set of La Petite Mairesse working as Camera Operator on the Arri Mini with gorgeous Angenieux glass.
